Choosing on X-Ray Source in Materials Applications

The usefulness of x-ray scattering in the development of new materials is well- recognized as is the enormous advantages afforded by an x-ray synchrotron s source. In spite of the advantages of the synchrotron x-ray source, however, the ease of access of the laboratory x-ray source has made the conventional x-ray generator the instrument of choice in certain materials applications where the immediate availability of x-rays is important.
