As discussed in the above paper,(1) B-ISDN continuous bit-rate services using the synchronous residual time stamp method mag be suspected to suffer from excessive jitter. However, this is not true even if a high-frequency offset shifts the stuff ratio to unfavorable stuff ratio causing high-jitter amplitude. But there is another, still open, synchronization issue.
