Common carrier supply equipment

Certain parts of the design of equipments of wide-band, non-loaded and open-wire carrier systems are considered. The harmonic generator, in which a magnetically saturated coil is employed to produce the carrier is studied and the design procedure described. The problems of selection and distribution of the various harmonic components produced by the harmonic generator, the specification of the carrier-current filter and the design of the carrier-current supply circuit are all discussed.
