Common Patterns in the Dimensioning of Packet and Circuit Switching

This paper is an analysis of the mutual dependencies between network dimensioning, service quality, and sustainable commercial performance. We start with an abstract communication model, show the role of application stream collisions as root cause of congestion effects, and derive thereof performance expectations of different networking technologies.
