Comparing & Assessing Programming Languages: Ada, C, and Pascal
01 January 1984
Selecting a language appropriate for an application from the plethora of programming languages in use today can confuse not only the novice programmer but also the experienced computer scientist. Despite the current abundance of programming languages, new languages will continue to be designed and implemented as we extend the reach of computers and enhance our understanding of programming. The push for designing new languages comes not only from individual compute scientists wishing to improve on existing languages, but also from large organizations that realize the potential advantages of a programming language tailored to meet their needs.
