Comparison of error-control schemes for high-rate communication over short DSL loops affected by impulsive noise
01 January 2013
We consider DMT transmission over short DSL loops using larger bandwidths than with VDSL2, in the presence of impulsive noise. Various combinations of coding and ARQ are compared in terms of BER performance and information bitrate. Our study shows that ARQ allows to achieve larger information bitrates with smaller latency as compared to the traditional combination of RS coding and TCM with large interleaving in between.
