Complexity Analysis of an Adaptive Frequency-Domain Equalizer for MIMO-SDM Transmission

We describe a low-complexity frequency-domain equalizer whose coefficients are adapted using the data-aided least-mean squares algorithm. We analyze complexity scaling with the number of modes and show that complexity grows slowly as a function of the filter's impulse response length. We further discuss design trade-offs for an 1 Tb/s MIMO-SDM interface.
