Composite-dielectric coaxial line

An investigation of the lowest modes of a line with fixed ratio between conductor and dielectric radii and of specific permittivity ratio. A comparison is made with a homogeneous coaxial line as regards the cut-off-frequencies of the higher-order modes. A l.f. approximation shows that for the lowest mode, the effective permittivity is the same as that obtained by electrostatic methods.
