Developed by AT&T Bell Laboratories, the Number 2 Signal Transfer Point (no. 2 STP) is a large packet switch initially used in the AT&T Communications - Common Channel Signaling (CCS) network. The No. 2 STP supports CCITT based (CCS6 and CCS7) protocols and offers large capacity for voice and nonvoice signaling applications.
