2019 Bell Labs Fellows announced

Fellows certificate

The Bell Labs Fellows Award recognizes and honors Nokia employees who have made outstanding and sustained R&D contributions at Nokia. It is the highest honor bestowed on members of our technical community, rewarding superior performance to encourage all scientists and engineers to strive toward the same level of distinction.

At an awards dinner last week, Nokia Bell Labs inducted eight new Fellows whose work has contributed deeply to a broad range of technologies, including IP routing, audio, radio, optical, access networks, end-to-end architectures and traffic optimization. These technologies have not only made their mark at Nokia, but also on society and humanity at large. The 2019 Fellows will join an elite group of 316 past Bell Labs Fellows who have received the honor since the program began in 1982.

In welcoming this year’s accomplished new conferees, Marcus Weldon, Corporate CTO and President of Nokia Bell Labs, stated: “This year’s Bell Labs Fellows are role models for the philosophy of ‘embracing complexity to find simplicity’ with their relentless pursuit of solving the most difficult problems, and creating the most elegant solutions. And I wholeheartedly admire and congratulate them all.”
