National Apprenticeship Week 2023 - Nokia Launches its first UK Apprenticeship Program
As an industry there has been much talk of late about the skills shortages. We are facing real challenges in recruiting the right individuals with relevant skills in this continuously evolving and always exciting technology sector.
It is my personal belief that it is critical for companies like Nokia to continue to find ways to offer opportunities and experiences to everyone. It is vital to support learning and growth, whatever your starting point, situation, and background. We will continue creating an inclusive and diverse workforce for the future.
Nokia Launch!
To bridge this gap I am delighted to announce that Nokia is launching their first ever Early Careers Apprenticeship Scheme in the UK, starting in 2023. This is about investing in people that allows everyone to reach their full potential and uncover hidden talents to learn new skills as part of their learning journey.
The programs offer the unique opportunity to combine study and real life industry experience whilst gaining a nationally recognized qualification.
We are launching three new external apprenticeship’s that are open to anyone, from school leavers to career-changers with the opportunity to study through to degree level.
- Level 6 Degree Apprenticeship Executive Assistant Sales
- Level 4 Network Engineer
- Level 4 Associate Project manager
Learning from industry specialists
The qualifications and training delivered during these apprenticeships are externally accredited. Apprentices will gain experience in one of the world's leading technology companies, with access to first class, hands-on training from our own Nokia industry specialists. The scheme ensures dedicated mentors provide support throughout to ensure they reach their full potential, gaining finely tuned skills alongside study to achieve a qualification that provides the knowledge required to step into a new role at the end of the apprenticeship.

This is about investing in the future, and although this is a small step forward it is critical towards our commitment to filling the skills gap, particularly in STEM industries and offers genuine career prospects to everyone.
