Getting started with Optical Network Automation
Start your journey toward optical network automation with an overview of network automation applications and areas that can benefit from automation. Next, we will cover the Nokia optical network automation ecosystem, consisting of several critical building blocks for eight essential use cases. After that, you will learn how to make these use cases possible by adopting a set of standard enablers, such as interfaces, protocols, and models for representing and encoding the accessible data. We’ll introduce the four most popular use cases: service provisioning, bandwidth on demand and calendaring, optimization and analysis, and analytics. You will see which building blocks are needed to support each of these use cases and how the building blocks are connected to enable the necessary communications to enable these applications.
Primer on networking infrastructure for HPC and AI clusters
AI has taken center stage in the tech world and compelled organizations to look carefully at the business value this powerful tool can (and cannot) deliver. At the vortex of this storm is the AI infrastructure and its crucial networking component. In this workshop, we will bring you a story of how we imagined a user can create business value from an in-house AI training and inference. We then expand this conversation to take you through the journey to scale these operations using Network as the key enabler, tackling critical infrastructure challenges on the way. Join us for a no-sales, all-technology conversation about this space.

Harnessing the cycle of automation in network design and optimization
In this presentation, we explore the Nokia NSP automation cycle. We start by designing policies for VPN services and traffic engineering, defining network behavior through intents. These intents are deployed to manage VPNs and optimize resources using PCE policies. We analyze telemetry data to identify improvements, following a closed-loop approach where adjustments are made to intents and VPN configurations based on utilization data. Kafka and Workflows trigger changes throughout the cycle. Finally, we showcase a use case highlighting how optimization and automated adjustments are achieved using containerLab and Kubernetes.
