Practical Information
Climate
San Diego in September offers beautiful, warm weather with plenty of sunshine, making it an ideal destination for a conference. Daytime temperatures average between 65°F and 75°F (18°C to 24°C), with cooler evenings and a refreshing ocean breeze.
Rain is rare, and the humidity remains low, ensuring a comfortable experience for attendees. Light, breathable clothing is recommended for outdoor activities, while a light sweater or jacket may be useful for air-conditioned conference spaces.
Currency
The currency in San Diego is the US Dollar ($).
Dress Code
The dress code for Wavelengths 2025 is business casual.
Electricity/Voltage
San Diego, like the rest of the United States, operates on a standard electrical voltage of 120 volts AC at a frequency of 60 Hz. This voltage is compatible with most North American appliances and electronics; however, travellers from countries with different voltage standards, such as 220-240 volts, may need a voltage converter or transformer to safely use their devices in San Diego. Additionally, most outlets in San Diego accommodate two- or three-pronged plugs with flat blades, so international travelers may also require plug adapters to fit their devices into the outlets. It is recommended to bring an international adaptor as the hotel is limited in converters.
Visas
A citizen of a foreign country who seeks to enter the United States generally must first obtain a U.S. visa, which is placed in the traveller’s passport, a travel document issued by the traveller’s country of citizenship. Certain international travellers may be eligible to travel to the United States without a visa if they meet the requirements for visa-free travel. For the most up-to-date information on visa and entry requirements to the United Stated, please click here.
If you require an official Nokia invitation letter to apply for a visa, please contact your Nokia representative to request support.
For Nokia staff, please follow the instructions on the event intranet.
