David is currently working at Airbus DS as optical communication system engineer (6 years).  He has led system studies that aimed at assessing the technical and financial feasibility of optical cross-atmospheric links (OCAL), particularly for the GEO use case. He participated in the ADS demonstrator TELEO (in GEO orbit since the end of 2023) aiming at evaluating the impact of crossing the atmosphere and de-risking space and ground technologies. He has also been working with Nokia for several years on the development of high data rate communication chains (100 Gbps) for OCAL. He is now working on increasing the maturity of technological bricks for 'very high throughput satellite' use case and for 'massive data transfer' use case. Prior to ADS, David worked at ArianeGroup on LIDAR and RADAR projects, right after his PhD in nanoscience (optomechanics) obtained in 2014 at Paris Diderot University.

Michele Mosca is CEO and co-founder of the quantum-safe cybersecurity company, evolutionQ. He also co-founded the quantum software company softwareQ and serves as Chair of the board of Quantum Industry Canada. He is co-founder of the Institute for Quantum Computing at the University of Waterloo, a Mathematics Professor, and a founding member of Waterloo's Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics. He started working in cryptography during his undergraduate studies and obtained his doctorate in Mathematics in 1999 from the University of Oxford on the topic of Quantum Computer Algorithms. He co-founded the not-for-profit Quantum-Safe Canada, and the ETSI-IQC workshop series in quantum-safe cryptography and is globally recognized for his drive to help academia, industry and government prepare our cyber systems to be safe in an era with quantum computers. Dr. Mosca’s awards and honours include 2010 Canada's Top 40 Under 40, Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal (2013), SJU Fr. Norm Choate Lifetime Achievement Award (2017), and a Knighthood (Cavaliere) in the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic (2018).

Dr. Ilias Papastamatiou is an Electrical and Computer Engineer of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) and holds the position of the Senior Project Manager at GRNET since 2020. He participates in the management and implementation of National and EU projects in the area of High Performance Network Connectivity, Quantum Communication Infrastructure (QCI) and the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC). He is currently the HellasQCI coordinator, the project that deploys the National Quantum Communication Infrastructure of Greece as part of the pan European initiative EuroQCI. During 2014-2020, he worked at the European Commission (EC) in Brussels, and specifically as Member of the Cabinet to the Commissioner for Migration, Home Affairs and Citizenship and later as Policy Officer at the Directorate-General for Migration and Home Affairs (DG HOME) dealing with cybercrime and cyberterrorism policies. During 2013-2014 he was Advisor at the Hellenic Ministry of National Defence and Head of the ICT Department of the Minister’s Cabinet. He retained the same position for the Hellenic Ministry of Foreign Affairs during 2012-2013. In October '14, he received from the Minister of National Defence the Cross of Merit and Honor (2nd Class) for his contribution. He holds a PhD from NTUA with honors in the research domain of Decision Support Systems and ICT.

Her research focused on analysis and optimization of future optical access network aggregation and traffic modelling. Prior joining IMS NETWORKS at the end of 2015, she was a part of optical access network study team at Bouygues telecom where she was a technical referent of optical access networks. She analyzed different optical access architectures and defined performance indicators to improve the operations of optical access networks. She is currently a senior optical transport network engineer and the head of optical expertise center at IMS NETWORKS.  She is in charge of design, deploy and support of complex optical network cases. Dr George T. Kanellos is an Assistant Professor with the Department of Informatics & Telecommunications of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens - NKUA, Greece. He previously was a Senior Lecturer (2017-2022) with the High Performance Networks Group at the University of Bristol and a Senior Research Fellow with the WinPhos Group of the Aristotle University in Thessaloniki/ Centre for Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH) (2010-2017). He received his BSc and Ph.D. from the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science School of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) - Photonics Communications Research Laboratory (PCRL), in 2002 and 2008 respectively. Dr. Kanellos’ research focuses on optical interconnects and distributed compute systems, secure optical and quantum communications for terrestrial and satellite networks, the quantum internet and quantum computing. Dr Kanellos has previously led the technical efforts in several EU and National funded projects, he was the Bristol PI for EU-H2020-UNIQORN and served as co-I for the EPSRC UK-National Quantum Communications hub. Dr Kanellos has also worked with ESA in the ESA HyDRON Network Deployment Technology Roadmap. He currently serves as the technical coordinator for HellasQCI, the National EUROQCI initiative, and is the NKUA PI for EU quantum flagship project QSNP, EU project LAIQA and HFRI project QRONOS. Dr Kanellos has published more than 150 scientific publications and is the co-author of 5 book chapters.

Vittorio joined Alcatel in 1998 and he is a business professional with more than 20 years of management expertise in the Optics environment. Within the company he has held several positions, starting from the R&D technical area and moving after a few years to the commercial area. In 2005 he was appointed Sales Manager for Interhouse and Direct Sales of Optics Business. From 2007 to 2012 he has been responsible in Alcatel-Lucent for the Optics Domain Business Center for the cluster Central Europe and CIS, accountable for the Optics business development in the region. From 2012 to 2015 he has led the Optics Regional Competence Center, focusing on Deutsche Telekom. Since the beginning of 2016 he is responsible within Nokia for the business development for all Global Enterprise and Public Sector customers for the Optics business in Europe. Matteo Lonardi received his MSc in Communications Engineering (2016) and PhD in Information Technology (2020) from the University of Parma, focusing on the quality of transmission estimation and monitoring in modern optical transmission systems.
In November 2019, Matteo joined Nokia Bell Labs Smart Optical Fabric and Devices group as a Research Scientist, applying machine learning techniques to estimate and monitor the quality of transmission in optical networks. 

Since January 2022, Matteo has embarked on a job rotational position as a product line manager at Nokia. In this role, he focuses on investigating and developing monitoring and sensing technologies in subsystems, expanding his expertise and exploring the potential of machine learning in optical modules and transponders.
