Senior DSL expert for Fixed Access Domain Competence Center, Alcatel-Lucent

Biography

Jan Verlinden is a member of the Fixed Access Domain Competence Center for Alcatel-Lucent in Antwerp, Belgium. He received his MS in Electrotechnical Engineering from Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Belgium, in 2000. As a researcher for Alcatel-Lucent, he has focused on echo canceller techniques as well as dynamic spectrum management (DSM). He participated in the VDSL Olympics by introducing DSM (level 1) into the VDSL prototype. He also contributed to the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), which approved the DSM Technical Report in May 2007. Since 2009, he acts as domain expert for technology evolutions in DSL, including Vectoring (DSM level 3) and G.fast. Jan is also a Distinguished Member of the Alcatel-Lucent Technical Academy.
