Biography
Patricia Layec received a PhD from the University of Paris-Sud XI, Orsay, France, in 2009. She is currently a Bell Labs Researcher in France. In 2005, she worked at Orange on MIMO transceiver design and multiuser information theory. In 2009, she was with Alcatel–Lucent (now Nokia), first working on wireless physical layer dimensioning (HSPA+/LTE) in the business division, then joining Nokia Bell Labs. Since 2016, she has headed the Physics of Optical Networks research team. She has authored and coauthored more than 80 publications and patents. She led the CELTIC European project EO-NET, which received the Celtic-Plus Gold Excellence Award in 2014. She has been involved in several collaborative research projects, including Celtic EO-Net, FP7 IDEALIST and H2020 METRO-HAUL. Her current interests are monitoring, machine learning and digital signal processing.
