Meet a few of our Summer Interns at Nokia Canada

Meet Amelie, Brandon, Nick, and Tim, a few of the Summer Interns at Nokia Canada who have been making remarkable strides in the world of technology during their summer internship. As a small task, we asked them to film a day in the life, to showcase what life at #TeamNokia is really like as an intern in Canada.  

Amelie Haefele

Amelie Haefele

Amelie Haefele, is a fourth-year Computer Science student at Carleton University and excels as the former Academic Director of Carleton's Computer Science Society. Her passion for aiding others and unraveling puzzles led her to Computer Science. She is actively contributing to testing a cybersecurity-focused website software system; Amelie finds fulfillment in seeing her code integrated. In her leisure time, she enjoys game modding and creative pursuits. Her internship has sharpened her problem-solving skills, shaping a promising future in the field.

Brandon Duan

Brandon Duan

Brandon Duan is a fourth-year Management and IT Co-Op student at the University of Toronto. As a full-stack developer intern at Nokia, he contributed to shaping communication networks. Brandon values Nokia's inclusive culture and built a user-friendly internal forum promoting knowledge sharing. He gained adaptability, resilience, and improved communication skills. Brandon aspires to drive innovation and contribute to the network industry's advancements. Outside work, he finds inspiration in hiking and camping.

Nick Martins

Nick Martins

Nick Martins is a Bachelor of Information Technology student specializing in Network Engineering. Currently an "IP Customer Application Engineer Co-Op/Intern" at Nokia, he chose the company for its technology and culture. Working with real industry equipment, he completes projects, studies for certifications, and organizes intern events. Outside work, Nick enjoys video games, rock climbing, hockey, and volleyball. He has developed hard skills in network technology and soft skills in communication and networking. Grateful for Nokia's support, he looks forward to the future.

Tim (Bowen) Nie

Tim (Bowen) Nie

Last but not least, Tim (Bowen) Nie, an international student from Beijing, studies statistics at the University of Waterloo. Passionate about data science, he chose Nokia for his Co-Op, aiming to solve global challenges through future technology. Currently working on a customer referential project, he seeks efficiency in generating financial and performance reports and better ways to visualize business data. Tim enjoys chess, badminton, cycling, and reading history books outside work. Lessons from Nokia include active listening, questioning, and note-taking for future success.

About Linda Krebs

Linda Krebs (she/her) is the Campus Program Manager for Nokia in Canada. She has over 17 years of experience in talent attraction, branding and retention providing strategic implementation of recruiting best practices and operations. Currently in this role, her focus is in early careers recruitment, program and partnership development, diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives and employer branding.  Some personal things about her, she love being outdoors! Whether its hiking, camping, paddle boarding, etc. just getting outside is what she does for fun, rest and relaxation. She also love to cook and bake - a foodie at heart, but who isn't nowadays?! And last but definitely not least, there is one thing that she will share is that she is most proud about and that is of her kids. They are her pride and joy, and definitely the reason that keeps her motivated every day.
