SReXperts Venue and Travel

SReXperts attendees can conveniently book a hotel room during the event registration process. The primary accommodation is Hotel PortAventura, located just a 5-minute walk from the convention center.

For additional availability, a block of rooms has been reserved at Hotel Colorado Creek, which will serve as the overflow hotel once Hotel PortAventura reaches full capacity. Hotel Colorado Creek is situated across from PortAventura Park. Guests staying there can enjoy a pleasant 30-minute walk through the park to the convention center.

For added convenience, a shuttle service will operate between the two locations. Shuttle schedules will be shared here soon.
 

Hotel PortAventura

This relaxed resort-style hotel is arranged like a Mediterranean fishing village. It features, airy, modern rooms and offers complimentary Wi-Fi and flat-screen TVs. Freebies consist of parking and unlimited theme park entry. During our event, there will be one restaurant available, along with a cafe and a bar. Other amenities include 2 outdoor pools, a kids' pool and a game room. 

Hotel Colorado Creek

This casual hotel boasts a woodsy vibe. Relaxed rooms with wood-paneled walls and rustic accents feature complimentary Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs and safes. Parking and park entry are free, as is access to a sister property that has 2 outdoor pools, a children's pool and a kids' club. Access to a gym, a hot tub and a sauna is offered for a fee. Breakfast and dining are available.

Hotel Reservations

Hotel requests can be made during the online event registration.  All registrants who have requested accommodation as part of their registration will receive a detailed hotel reservation confirmation email from our delegate registration partner, Conference Contacts.   All reservations for guests without credit cards, with invalid credit cards or incorrect credit card details will not be confirmed by the Hotel.
 

Check-in and Check-out Times

The standard check-in time is from 15:00 PM on your day of arrival and the hotel’s check-out time is 11:00 AM on your day of departure. Additional charges will apply should you require early arrival or late check-out.

Cancellation of Bedroom Reservation

Bedroom reservations can be cancelled without penalty up to and including May 23, 2025. Should you cancel your reservation after that date and your room cannot be resold, the hotel reserves the right to charge for the duration of your intended stay as cancellation fees. In the case of no-show, the hotel will also charge for the duration of your intended stay as cancellation fees. 

Arriving by Plane

Delegates will land at Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat Airport which is approximately 97km from the PortAventura Convention Centre.

Nokia will be providing a free limited airport shuttle service from May 31 to June 6 only.  This service aims to offer convenient transportation for attendees during this period.  The detailed schedule for the shuttle service will be published closer to the event and will be subject to availability.

If you choose to make your own way south, Taxis are readily available in front of the terminal at the airport. The average cost for a taxi from the airport to PortAventura will be approximately €200.00, and depending on the time of day you arrive, the average travel time will be approximately one hour depending on traffic.
 

Arriving by Car

Should you plan to arrive by car, take Exit 35 of the AP-7 or Autopista del Mediterráneo (E-15 on the European car route) takes you straight to the convention center.
 

Parking

Onsite parking is available free of charge for all SReXperts attendees.
 

Arriving by Train

Renfe offers passengers high-speed AVE, Avlo, Alvia and Avant trains that connect Madrid and Barcelona with the Tarragona station.  From there you may take a taxi to PortAventura.
 

Climate

PortAventura is positioned on the Mediterranean and, as a result, it experiences a moderate climate all year long. The average daytime temperatures are around 20°C with average minimum temperatures of about 18°C and high maximums of 26°C.
 

Currency

The currency in Spain is the Euro (€).
 

Dress Code

The dress code for SReXperts 2025 is business casual.
 

Electricity/Voltage

The electrical supply is 230 volts +/- 10%. The frequency of the supply is 50 hertz. Most electrical outlets in bathrooms have a built-in converter for 110 volts to be used only for shavers. The two-pin rectangular plug system is used. It is recommended to bring an international adaptor as the hotel is limited in converters.
 

Visas

Spain is a Member-State of the European Union and has signed the Schengen Agreement.  While travelling within the European Union, you only need your Identity card. However, a passport is necessary for several other transactions, such as currency exchange, purchases, etc.  Visas are not required by European citizens from countries that are part of the Schengen Area. Austria as a member of the Schengen Agreement, has abolished controls on common internal lands, at air and sea borders and allows Member-State citizens to travel around without a visa for a short stay period of up to three (3) months. However, please keep in mind that airlines and other carriers require a valid passport and/or identity card.

Citizens coming from countries that have not yet joined Schengen Area may require a visa to enter Austria. The E.U. visitors from these countries can acquire further information from the Embassies or Consulates in their countries, or from their travel agencies. Before visiting Spain, please consult your local government website and find out whether you require a Visa to gain entry.
