The study shows that operators can avoid 65% of operational costs by automating service fulfilment, network lifecycle management, and network and service assurance. Cost avoidance results from the reduction of labor time, order fallout and errors provided by automated processes

The automation of service fulfillment processes with the use of templates and standard scenarios can bring significant benefits.  
 

  • The provisioning processes benefit from a significant reduction in the manual labor time required to create and activate new services, and significantly fewer errors resulting from order fallout and human error.
  • Service modification processes achieve a similar benefit, avoiding employees to manually delete the service and then create & activate it with the new configuration.
  • The deletion process has a smaller impact. However, further costs can be avoided with automation by improving the accuracy of the process, alleviating the need for equipment audits to ensure services have been deleted correctly.
