The Nokia SR Linux Automation Expert is an expert-level certification that builds on the Nokia Certified Data Center Fabric Professional, focusing on programming APIs for automation, and programmability and customization capabilities of Nokia SR Linux.
Learning outcomes
Upon successful completion of the SR Linux Automation Expert, students will be able to:
Design and configure YANG data model.
Develop ansible modules and programming APIs for network automation, including gRPC Network Management Interface (gNMI), JSON-RPC, gRPC Network Operations Interface (gNOI), and gRPC Routing Information Base Interface (gRIBI).
Implement NetOps Development Kit (NDK) for third-party applications, CLI plugins for customized CLI commands, and an event handler for programmable actions based on MicroPython scripts.

How to certify
To become a Nokia Certified SR Linux Automation Expert, you must pass one written exam (multiple-choice) through Pearson VUE and one practical lab exam through Nokia. You must first pass the written exam to be eligible for the lab exam.
To acquire the knowledge to pass the exams, you can choose between our recommended instructor-led training, eLearning, self-study materials, and My DCF Learning Labs. We also offer a self-study certification bundle that includes everything you need. Training is not required to attempt the exams.
- Instructor-led training offers you a mix of theoretical and hands-on experience guided by subject matter experts. You can attend a publicly scheduled open-enrolment course through live virtual delivery or schedule a private delivery.
- eLearning is an interactive and engaging online experience that lets you learn at your own pace. Currently, it is only available for the Data Center Fabric Fundamentals.
- Self-study materials allow you to learn at your own pace by accessing the same course materials from our instructor-led training.
- My DCF Learning Labs allows you to complete the same lab exercises from our instructor-led courses with inline instructions and solutions, giving you everything you need in one easy-to-use browser-based application.

Your status will change in the Student Portal to show that you are certified. In addition, you will be able to download and print your diploma, and you will receive an email from Credly to claim your digital certification badge.
Don't let your certification lapse. All certifications in the Nokia DCF Program are valid for three years. After three years, you must recertify to ensure your designation stays current. Complete the recertification requirements below during your eligibility window to renew your certification and retain your professional designation. You can view your certification status, dates, and exam results from the Student Portal.
Three key dates to remember
Please keep these important dates in mind and organize your recertification activities around them:
- Certification date: The day your certification was awarded.
- Certification expiry date: The day your certification was awarded three years ago. Note - If you pass a recertification requirement, your certifications' expiration and termination dates will reset to the date that you wrote the exam.
- Certification termination date: The day your certification terminates if you do not successfully complete the recertification requirements within 6 months after your expiry date.
