Training
1830 PSS Hardware Installation & Commissioning (VR)
Course duration: 3 days
Price: €2400
Course number: ER00840-V
Course overview
This virtual hands-on instructor-led course with optional certification provides participants a thorough understanding of the installation and commissioning procedures for the 1830 PSS photonic equipment, including PSS-4/8/16II/32/4L/8L. The course begins with an overview of the necessary documents, packages, and certifications required to operate the hardware effectively, followed by a detailed introduction to the 1830 PSS family, highlighting the relevant installation tools, kits, and Engineering and Planning Tool (EPT) output documents required for a successful installation. The course also covers essential topics such as fiber types, cleaning, and inspection techniques, utilizing the appropriate tools.
Thanks to virtual reality (VR), the students can practice installing the hardware with simulated physical equipment, covering all steps done in the field. Next, the course covers the software configuration of the equipment. Students are guided through the necessary steps to configure their own PCs connected to the available shelves, which for remote deliveries are done through node simulators. This includes PC configuration, TID configuration, NTP/routes/security settings, SDH/SONET mode setting, GMRE parameters configuration, and more. Automation tools such as the Portable Provisioning Tool (PPT), Path Connectivity Test (PCT), and Connection Verification Tool (CVT) are also explained.
By the end of the training, participants will have gained the necessary expertise to install, commission, and configure 1830 PSS photonic equipment effectively.
