NSP Classic Management NFM-P:
7750 MG (Mobile Gateway) SAEGW (S/PGW)
Operations and Maintenance

Course Number: OS00036-V-1800
Course Duration: 3 days (including lectures and hands-on lab exercises)

Course overview

This course is intended to familiarize learners with the concepts and practice the workflows to deploy the SAEGW (System Architecture Evolved Gateway) including both the SGW (Subscriber Gateway) and PGW (Provider Gateway) functions of the 7750 MG (Media Gateway). This course focuses in using the NSP (Network Services Platform) as the primary management interface.

Course Objectives

The learner will be able to:

  • Describe the drivers for 4G wireless networks
  • List the elements that make up the Evolved Packet Core and the Evolved Packet System
  • Identify the reference points at the interfaces interconnecting the different EPS components
  • Describe the advantages of configuring an c/MG as a SGW and PGW combo
  • Describe the Cloud Media Gateway (CMG)
  • Describe the main concepts associated with the PDN connectivity service provided by the EPS
  • Describe the concepts of Tracking Area, Tracking Area List, and Tracking Area Update
  • Identify the different mobility and connection States and the corresponding transition conditions

  • Explain how the EPS component instances that will serve a specific UE are selected
  • Describe the GPRS Tunneling Protocol (GTP)
  • Explain the Diameter protocol
  • Describe the purpose for a statically configured PCC rule and the difference with and without PCRF
  • Describe the procedure for attaching the UE to the network and establishing a Default Bearer
  • Understand how a Dedicated Bearer is established
