NSP Model-Driven
Management

Course number: OS00109-V-2000
Course duration: 2 days
Price: €1,600

Course overview

This hands-on instructor-led course explores how the NSP delivers device-independent network mediation through model-driven (MD) functionalities and applications.  Discover how the NSP uses hot-pluggable "adaptors" to convert generic application requests to device-specific directives using standard protocols such as NETCONF, SNMP and CLI.  Learn the different adaptor types and how to obtain them while gaining knowledgeable insights into their installation procedures.  Equip yourself with crucial model-driven management procedures through step-by-step use case examples, including preparing network elements for model-driven management, discovering an MD aware network element using the NSP Device Administrator, configuring discovered MD network elements using the NSP Modeled Device Configurator, and viewing discovered MD network element state information using the NSP Modeled Device Configurator. This course is based on NSP version 20.6.

Course objectives

After completing the course, students should be able to:

  • Discuss the two main NSP types of mediation techniques making up the "Hybrid Management" model
  • Describe the benefits of NSP model-driven management
  • Explain NSP model-driven adaptors and their role in model-driven management
  • Describe how to obtain NSP model-driven adaptors
  • Describe how to install NSP model-driven adaptors

  • Demonstrate how Nokia's Network Developer Portal can aid in NSP model-driven support
  • Demonstrate preparing network elements for model-driven mode
  • Demonstrate how to discover a model-driven aware network element using the NSP Device Administrator
  • Demonstrate how to configure model-driven network elements using the NSP Modeled Device Configurator
  • Demonstrate how to view network element state information using the NSP Modeled Device Configurator
