Biography
At Bell Labs, Ahmet’s current focus is on the areas of network and device data analytics, with a particular emphasis on using predictive analytics to identify patterns in big and complex collected data sets and use them to predict service problems to enable proactive solutions before customer experience is impacted.
Ahmet’s prior work in Bell Labs Advanced Technologies and Bell Labs CTO focused on providing high performance, reliable video, voice and data services to users whether at home, at work or mobile, to provide an excellent experience for telecom consumers. As such, his work encompassed the areas of network analytics, network architecture, design, performance analysis and simulation, reliability, survivability, diagnostics and root cause analysis. He has worked with numerous networking technologies such as optical, IP/MPLS, wireless, smart grid and cloud computing.
- Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from North Carolina State University, Raleigh, NC, 1999. Ph.D. Dissertation on network performance modeling and evaluation, with emphasis on accelerated simulation.
- M.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from North Carolina State University, Raleigh, NC, 1995. M.S. Thesis on accelerated rare event simulation methods, with early research in the area of image processing.
