Alan Mcbride

Biography

Alan McBride is the cybersecurity lead at Bell Labs Consulting, He has over 30 years of experience in the communications industry, primarily in the areas of network management and cybersecurity.  He is based in Dublin, Ireland.  His current focus areas are security for AI/ML, Critical Infrastructure, Cloud, and 5G. He has engaged in risk assessments, security maturity assessments and security framework definition projects for critical infrastructure companies and government agencies globally, primarily for telecommunications and energy sectors.  Alan began his career at British Telecommunications as a software developer.  He joined Lucent Technologies in 1998 as a systems architect and was awarded the coveted accolades of distinguished member of technical staff (DMTS) and consulting member of technical staff (CMTS) in 2000 and 2008 respectively for his contributions to Lucent’s network management strategy and architecture.  Mr. McBride received a BA degree in Computer Science from Trinity College, University of Dublin, Ireland.  He is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and has attained Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) and Certificate of Cloud Security Knowledge certification (CCSK) from Cloud Security Alliance (CSA).
