Axel Van Damme

Biography

Axel Van Damme joined Bell Labs in 2020 and currently working in the department of Autonomous Networks within Nokia Bell Labs Solution Research, Antwerp (Belgium). He specialized in troubbleshooting, diagnosing and improving access networks (copper and fiber) using Deep Learning techniques. His latests researches focus on upsampling traffic traces of an acess network. Prior to Bell Labs, from 2000 until 2016, within Alcatel-Lucent, he mainly developed telephone services, in the area of localisation, advertising or billing. He was also involved in the IoT domain. From 2016 until 2020, as part of Nokia Motive Network Analyzer team, he started developping dedicated algorithms to detect problematic copper access line in DSL networks, then moved to Deep Learning methods to significantly improve the detection results.
