Biography

Dr. Daniel (Philip) VENMANI is a permanent member of Standards and Technology (S&T) Division of Nokia, where he is currently contributing to standards-based research on Media (AR/VR/XR/Metaverse) related topics. His main area of research include mobile network architecture designs from a system level perspective. Before joining Nokia-Bell Labs, Daniel was a permanent member of Orange Labs for 12 years holding various roles as researcher and standardisation engineer, where he actively contributed to several Standard Development Organisations (SDOs) including (but not limited to) ITU-T SG15, IEEE 1588WG, 3GPP SA WG2, O-RAN WG4, IETF TikTok WG mainly contributing to Time Sensitive Communications related topics.  He has served as an editor for ITU-T recommendations (ITU-T Rec. G.8272 and ITU-T Rec. G.8273) for 8 years in the past. He obtained his Master in Mobile Communication Systems (MSc) from Telecom Paris-Tech/Institut-Eurecom in 2009, then Specialised Master (MS) in Space Communication Systems from ISAE-SUPAERO in 2010 and Ph.D. in Telecommunications and Computer Systems Networking from University Pierre and Marie Curie (UPMC) Paris IV, in 2013.
