Biography

Background

Furquan is a Bell Labs Consulting partner, leading the Network and Cloud Infrastructure functional practice. He is a leading expert on E2E network architecture and transformation, providing advisory services that blend business, technology and economics to service providers and enterprises around the globe. He has more than 20 years of experience in the telecommunications and networking field and has held diverse roles within the company, including founding and incubating an internal venture. He has led multiple product, technical and consulting teams and executed large complex projects globally. He is well published and holds various patents, including co-authoring the “Future of Enterprise” chapter of Bell Labs Future X network book.

Competencies

Furquan’s areas of expertise span E2E mobile and fixed networks and the role of new technologies in evolving, optimizing and transforming networks. His prime focuses have been transport networks, cloud and data center architectures, virtualization/cloud-native, orchestration, mobile core and security and new concepts around network slicing. His role involves advising customers on their strategic needs, evaluating trade-offs and business impacts and helping them transform as they move to next-generation technologies to support new and existing services.
