Horst Angerer

Biography

Horst Angerer is a senior telecommunications and industry professional with international management experience in Germany, Finland, China and France. He held positions in Services, R&D, Program Management, Business Development and as COO of Nokia’s GSM business from 2008 till 2013. Horst led many major strategic projects as: M&A Motorola GSM 2010, M&A Alcatel-Lucent Radio Business 2015, Industrial Business Development Germany 2016, Nokia Workforce and Locations 2019.

Since 2017 Horst has been concentrating on Industrial Communication, Industry4.0 and Digitalization with strong focus on the German industrial market, while he leads global strategic projects in parallel. 5G and its use-cases, Cloud/Edge Computing, Analytics, AI/ML belong to the technologies Horst is highly familiar with. Since 2019 he also holds a board role at BITKOM association for Industry4.0 Market & Strategy (BITKOM is Germany’s digital association covering ~2.600 enterprises).

1st February 2022 Horst started a new challenge by moving to Nokia Bell Labs Core Research and becoming engaged in the company-wide 6G program including early customer and ecosystem initiatives. Horst will continue his leading role in BITKOM Industry4.0 for the German market. In both missions Horst will turn ideas into tangible reality.

Horst is highly structured, he forms and leads teams with clear and motivating direction, he executes projects of any calibre with drive, he thinks and acts as an entrepreneur and he takes any challenge positively. He loves “mission impossible” missions and to generate major and sustainable value.

Horst was born in Austria and he lives in Munich Germany with his wife and his two children. In his leisure time he likes running ("a Marathon per week"), collecting antiques, reading and discussing with friends about the future of planet Earth.
