Joan Ramirez

Biography

Joan Manel Ramirez received his PhD from the Unversity of Barcelona, Spain, in 2015, on Si-based light sources. From 2015 to 2018, he worked at Paris-South University (France) as a post-doctoral researcher to develop mid-IR photonic integrated circuits. In November 2018, he joined Nokia Bell Labs as a senior researcher. From April 2020, he became the manager of the heterogeneous III-V-on-Si photonic integration program. His current research interests are III-V/Si photonic integrated circuits for high-speed optical communication, sensing and optical computing. He is author or co-author of more than 50 journal papers, 50 conference papers and 2 book chapters.
