Biography

Dr. Khouloud Abdelli is an Applied AI/ML Researcher at Nokia Bell Labs in Stuttgart, where she specializes in the application of advanced machine learning techniques for predictive maintenance in optical networks. She earned her Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology from Kiel University in 2023. Her doctoral research, titled "Machine Learning-based Predictive Maintenance for Optical Networks," involved the development of innovative ML models that significantly improve the reliability and efficiency of optical network systems, offering transformative insights to the field. Dr. Abdelli also holds a Diploma in Telecommunication from the High School of Communication of Tunis Sup’Com, awarded in 2016.

Prior joining Nokia Bell Labs, Dr. Abdelli was a Researcher at ADVA in Munich, where she made substantial contributions to predictive maintenance methodologies for optical networks. Her works included the development of data-driven models utilizing various machine learning techniques, such as unsupervised learning for equipment degradation prediction, recurrent neural networks for forecasting remaining useful life, and convolutional neural networks for fault detection and diagnosis.

Dr. Abdelli’s research interests are particularly focused on anomaly detection and localization, where she aims to leverage machine learning to identify and mitigate potential issues within network infrastructures effectively. She has authored and co-authored several papers published in leading journals and conferences.
