Martin Carroll

Biography

MARTIN D. CARROLL is a Distinguished Member of Technical Staff at Bell Labs in Murray Hill, New Jersey. His work experience spans a variety of topics that includes novel architectures for cloud-based rendering and computing; the design and implementation of bandwidth schedulers for cable and passive-optical access networks; GPU scheduling; FPGA programming; and C++ programming tools and representations. He received a B.S. degree in computer science from Fairleigh Dickinson University in Teaneck, New Jersey, and a Ph.D. in computer science from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Dr. Carroll has published a variety of technical papers and is coauthor (with Margaret Ellis) of the book Designing and Coding Reusable C++. He currently holds 14 patents and pending patents.
