Biography
Mingde (Jack) Zheng is a Biomedical scientist with extensive research experience in multidisciplinary fields covering Biomedical, Biochemical, Bioelectrical, Material Science, and Engineering. He received his B.S. degree in Biomedical Engineering with a focus in Bio-Instrumentation from the University of Texas at Austin in 2010. Later, he received his Master of Engineering and Ph.D. degrees in Biomedical Engineering from Rutgers University in New Jersey, specializing in developing novel biosensors and actuators. His graduate research focused on the design, fabrication, modeling, and implementation of In-Vitro Diagnostic micro-devices for clinical screening, biomolecular sensing, drug delivery, treatment of diseases, and supportive cell/tissue culturing. Jack also collaborated on projects with researchers from Chemistry, Aerospace, Mechanical, and Material Science and Engineering departments. His current research interests include developing natural human-machine interface technologies, IoT devices, artificial intelligence, novel sensors for continuous, in-body biomarkers monitoring, formulating functionally smart biomaterials as well as non-invasive transcutaneous actuation strategies.
