Biography
Nikos (Nikolaos) Papadis is currently a Networks Researcher - Research Scientist at Nokia Bell Labs, in Murray Hill, NJ, USA.
He received the M.Sc., M.Phil. and Ph.D. degrees from Yale University from the Department of Electrical Engineering and the Yale Institute for Network Science (YINS) working with Professor Leandros Tassiulas, his 5-year Diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens in Greece, and has done internships at IBM Research and Amazon.
At Yale, he was the recipient of several awards and scholarships, including the 2019 IBM Ph.D. Fellowship, the Alexander S. Onassis Public Benefit Foundation Scholarship, and the A.G. Leventis Foundation Scholarship.
His research interests include blockchain and distributed ledgers, their networking, scalability, security and financial aspects, payment networks and their efficient design and performance optimization, and federated learning, and uses tools from stochastic modeling, queueing theory, optimization, reinforcement learning and control.
His work received the Best Paper Award at the 4th International Conference on Mathematical Research for the Blockchain Economy (MARBLE 2023).
