Biography
Stefan received in 2006 the Dipl.-Ing. (Masters) in Information Systems Engineering, and in 2014 the Dr.-Ing. (PhD) in Electrical Engineering, both from Dresden University of Technology. Between 2007 and 2010, he worked at the startup Signalion GmbH (now National Instruments) whose main focus was the development of 4G UE emulators. Since joining Nokia Bell Labs in 2014, Stefan has worked on massive MIMO algorithms and system design, and supported the productization of those for which he received the DMTS award in 2020. Since 2021, he is leading the Nokia internal 6G project 'NextGen MIMO & PHY' which covers transceiver technologies, extreme & distributed MIMO design, and disruptive PHY concepts. In October 2022, Stefan became the department head for the Transceiver Research Department Germany & France.
