Ulrich Barth

Biography

ULRICH BARTH works for Nokia Bell Labs in the position of Technology Engagement Director. In this role he coordinates technology scouting, partnerships, and technology transfers. He senses the different partner interests in collaborations, aligns them to a common denominator and fosters the joint success. In parallel Ulrich is the Location Leader for Nokia Bell Labs Stuttgart. He represents Nokia Bell Labs in the industry and university context.

Talent acquisition and development is near to his heart after so long experience in research.

He received his Diploma Degree in Telecommunications from the FH Trier, Germany and joined Alcatel Research in 1988 which is Nokia Bell Labs today. Ulrich’s research focuses on new innovations for future intelligent wireless access systems, currently on technologies for 6G. Ulrich has been the Site Leader for Bell Labs in Stuttgart since 2016. He has filed many patents, published several conference and journal papers and has long experience in collaborative research projects and 3GPP standardization.
